September 29th, 2018 / / categories: Holiday & Vacation /

It is important to get the right advice if you are considering taking legal action against your Tour Operator for an illness that you contracted while you were abroad in Tunisia. Specialist Holiday Illness Claims Solicitors may be able to handle your claim when you are back in the UK.

Many holidaymakers who visit Tunisia each year also return home having suffered with illness while away or continue to suffer sickness when in the UK. In Tunisia, the foods to avoid are undercooked or reheated meat, unpasteurised milk, local tap water, ice cubes and unpeeled fruit. Holidaymakers should only consume purchase branded bottled water.

Hotels in Tunisia will often serve a range of hot and cold foods. Cold foods such as salads, salad dressings and mayonnaise need to be kept in a refrigerator prior to being served to hotels guests. This also applies to the cold food served at the buffet. Other foods served at the buffet should not be reheated and then served to guests. Further to this, any freshly cooked food should never simply be added to food that has already been served out as contamination could occur. Kitchen staff must maintain basic levels of food hygiene and the kitchen food preparation areas must be kept clean at all to times to prevent the spread of infection.

All Inclusive hotels in Tunisia that have had episodes of illness and sickness need to be inspected on regular basis by Tour Operator representatives. This is to ensure that repeat outbreaks of illness and sickness do not happen. Holidaymakers that contract illnesses from an all inclusive resort are likely to have caught the infection from the food served within the resort complex.

All food, but especially meat such as chicken, pork and burgers, should be well cooked and served hot. Any food that appears undercooked and is lukewarm should not be eaten and should be avoided. If the food is like this at your all inclusive hotel in Tunisia then you should report it to the hotel management.

Infection caught from food in an all inclusive hotel will likely lead to symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea. It may be the case that the holidaymaker has contracted Salmonella, E-Coli or Campylobacter food poisoning. In the case of a confirmed pathogen it is very important that you seek medical attention and treatment. Constant vomiting and diarrhoea will cause the body to dehydrate causing the holidaymaker to become seriously ill. Holidaymakers have reported cases of Salmonella upon returning home from Tunisia.

A specialist holiday illness claims solicitor will be able to help you claim compensation for an illness that you have suffered whilst on holiday in Tunisia. Compensation can be awarded for your illness, loss of holiday enjoyment and any medical expenses you incurred whilst you were out in Tunisia. The claim can be taken on a no win, no fee basis so that you wont have to fund any expensive legal bills.

What If You Fall Ill On Holiday

September 12th, 2018 / / categories: Holiday & Vacation /

One of the best times of the year is the holiday. Indeed, a holiday can be the most memorable part of your year, but it can be the most terrible if you fall ill on holiday. You can avoid suffering from illnesses during your vacation by making the right food and beverage choices. Also, travelers obtain reliable travel insurance to keep themselves protected in case they contract illness during travel.

Cases of food poisoning among travelers and vacationers are common in spite of information campaigns by travel agencies. Some illnesses have symptoms that linger long after the patients have returned home. What should you do if you contract disease during your holiday?

Many people do not know that they can actually claim compensation from the UK tour operator if they catch disease during their vacation and they have booked a package holiday. But obtaining compensation may mean going through standard process, wherein you will have to prove that the illness is due to the negligence of the operator. You can also demand compensation if the hotel failed to apply necessary steps to prevent infection.

When proving the negligence of the resort owner, for instance, you must provide evidence. You can take photos or videos of the place to prove poor maintenance and sanitation. You can also ask other people to provide evidence on your behalf. Testimonies from other vacationers who stayed at the resort are important. You can also provide names of people who got the same illness as you did.

Sometimes, identifying where you got the infection is troublesome. You have to recall the places where you went and ate, and then recall the last place you were at before the symptoms appeared.

Of course, before you can claim compensation, you have to provide evidence that you were ill. This is easy. You can obtain records from the hospital you were admitted to or from the doctor you went to when back in the UK.

It is not easy to go through the process of obtaining compensation, especially while you are still ill. In most cases, travelers put more emphasis on their own health than worrying about who pays their medical bills. Also, many travelers just cancel their vacation and go home where they choose to get medical treatment.

Another issue is that vacationers who contract illness do not know they can claim for compensation. Holiday illness can afflict many vacationers, only 1 in every 10 afflicted actually makes a complaint. Remember that if you booked a package holiday and you fell ill because you ate contaminated food provided by the hotel, you may be eligible for compensation.

What compensation you may be entitled for? Assuming you have proved that it is the tour operators or hotel owners fault, you can claim compensation for the suffering you endured due to the illness and for the cost of your spoiled holiday.

Family Sailing Vacations

September 10th, 2018 / / categories: Holiday & Vacation /

The current holiday trend among families is to go together on a family sailing vacation. The excitement of being secluded with the entire family on a single yacht in the middle of the ocean is incomparable with anything else. And being surrounded by picturesque locales is another added asset. More and more families today are going a-sailing together to celebrate occasions like birthdays, anniversaries and family get-togethers.

Hotspots for family sailing vacations include the Hawaiian Islands, the Caribbean Islands, the coast of Florida, Brazil and Argentina and European countries such as Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain. Families usually prefer lonely cays and beaches for their sailing vacations and avoid crowded waters.

Many tourist agencies provide packages for family sailing vacations. The first step is in finding a properly sized yacht or catamaran to accommodate the entire family. A big enough yacht will also have rooms or cabins for the people on board. Food and drink is provided on board. There may also be provisions for live music and orchestras if the families so prefer. Some sailing vacations also hire emcees who coax the people to dance aboard in the style of cruises.

Families prefer to perform group activities when they are sailing together. Lonely islands are preferred for taking a break from sailing. They may indulge in beach-combing or even snorkeling and scuba diving if they are more adventurous. Family meals become a highly celebrated affair with local cuisine and folk dances thrown in.

Agencies that target family clientele try to provide activities for all the members. Children are provided inflatable water toys with which they can amuse themselves. Adults can enjoy different adventure sports while those not inclined to sports may simply enjoy the whole experience. Care is taken by the crew to keep everyone occupied.

Usually a family sailing vacation will have a crew on board, apart from the family itself. There might also be chefs and waiters along with artistes for entertainment. It all depends on how much the family is willing to have a vacation together. A family vacation may last from 3 to 7 days and the cost would depend on the number of people, number of days and the location.

Family sailing vacations are fast becoming hot trends. All companies are cashing in on this craze, which doesnt seem to be fading away in a hurry.
