Top 5 Turkish Beaches Revealed

Turkey continues to remain a firm favourite for UK holidaymakers looking for guaranteed summer sunshine and value-for-money. With four airports (Izmir, Dalman, Bodrum and Antalya) serving the coastal areas to the south of the country, there are plenty of resorts to choose from – but which really offer the best beaches? The travel experts at Hays Travel have compiled a list of their top five Turkish beaches.

1)The Blue Lagoon, OluDeniz, near Fethiye
This is the most photographed beach in Turkey and one of the most photographed in the world! A protected national park, this clear, peaceful lagoon is cut off from the sea by a long sandbank. Home to the endangered Loggerhead Turtle, the lagoon is surrounded by fine white shingle and shady pine forests. Hire a pedalo and see if you can get up close to a turtle, or make a real entrance by paragliding in from the top of one of the nearby rugged mountains. Stunning scenery, unique wildlife, a real must-see spot.

2)Olympos, near Alanya
Oludeniz is stunning, but its popularity means it can get very crowded. For something a little less busy, head to Olympos. Secluded and small, it’s more popular with backpackers than the masses. Nearby Roman ruins give it its name. Go back to basics and stay at the local treehouse camp.

3)Patara, near Fethiye
This huge beach is the birthplace of Nicholas, who went on to be immortalised in legend as Father Christmas. Soft and spotless, it’s a great place for building sandcastles and playing but does lack shade in the scorching high season.

4)Turgutreis, near Bodrum
Ever-popular Bodrum can get crowded and isn’t very special, luckily you don’t have to head too far out of town to reach Turgutreis. Gnetly shelving and chilled-out, this is a great spot for families. The breze also makes this beach popular with windsurfers.

5)Konyaalti Beach, near Antalya
Clear sea and pristine shingle have won this stretch an award for cleanliness. Arrive by dolmus or stay in the hip minimalist Hillside Su hotel, which overlooks this beautiful beach.

“These are only a selection of the brilliant beaches on offer in Turkey,” says Emily at Hays Travel. “Go and visit, explore, hire a car and find your own. There are lots of little islands and hidden coves around the coast – for a real holiday with a difference, why not cruise on board a gulet (traditional Turkish yacht.) If you prefer luxury, choose a first-class beach front hotel and take just a few steps from your room to the shore. There’s a beach to suit everyone in Turkey!”

Ancient Greece gave many things to the modern world including the foundations of mathematics and the sciences. Holidaymakers visiting the mainland or the islands will also discover that Greece continues to surprise and confound modern scientists and archaeologists with more recent findings. Tourists staying in Greece hotels can visit the capital, Athens to see some of the artefacts that have been recovered from the Dokos Shipwreck, the oldest known shipwreck in the world dating back past 2500BC. Due to its age many artefacts perished but divers did manage to recover many ceramic containers from the wreckage. The Antikythera wreck is probably the most fruitful discovery of them all and again most of the treasures were taken to Athens after being discovered. Among them were some excellent marbles and also priceless bronze statues like the Philosophers head. However the Antikythera mechanism is its best artefact. The mechanical device is as sophisticated as a mechanical watch made by the Swiss masters of early modernity and scientists believe it was an accurate way of mapping celestial bodies for navigating the oceans or some similar purpose. Holidaymakers visiting Crete, the largest Greek island can see artefacts recovered from La Therese, a French Navy vessel that sank late in the 17th century after an on board explosion. The largest Greek island has a very long history so holidaymakers have a good choice of cultural visits, beaches and inland hikes to choose from. The ruins of the Royal Palace at Knosos are interesting and should precede a trip to the Irakleio museum where holidaymakers can learn more about the ancient Minoans through their artefacts and the other wonders they built on the island. Bodrum hotels on Turkey’s Aegean coast are also popular for holidaymakers who enjoy the Greek islands as they are often close to or on the coast and have excellent views of both Kos and Rhodes. Holidaymakers staying in Bodrum have a pick of excellent beaches to choose from and can visit the historical old city for a memorable excursion looking through artefacts left behind by the ancients. The imposing Castle of St John is Bodrum’s most popular visitor attraction and houses a wonderful maritime museum full of artefacts of all shapes and sizes that have been salvaged from the Aegean and Mediterranean seabeds. The artefacts include glassware dating back to the first century BC and ceramics from the same and later periods. The museums most interesting collections are the shipwrecks, some of which are Bronze Age. There are also Byzantine shipwrecks in the museum’s Glass shipwreck hall. For holidaymakers that want to have a look at the ceramics and other vessels that were used to transport foods and liquids the Amphora exhibit is a very comprehensive collection. The Castle of St John is a very good if slightly unexpected treat for holidaymakers staying in Bodrum and Gumbet hotels.

There is no doubt that Greece is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. -The Jewel of Mediterranean- ,as it has been previously called has the tenth longest coastline in the world at 14,880 km (9,246 mi) in length, featuring an enormous number of islands (approximately 1400, of which only 227 are inhabited). Millions of tourists visit Greece every year(mostly during the summer months) and leave the country with many wonderful memories that are hard to forget. I am convinced that any traveler that has visited Greece will surely tell you about the natural beauty of the country and about its rich cultural background. Most travelers visit the Greek Islands because they combine all the assets mentioned above plus they have wonderful beaches where the traveler can enjoy swimming.

There are many ways that a traveler can access the Greek islands. He can either go there by air(most major Greek Islands have airports) or by sea. Although the idea of traveling by plane can be rather tempting and comfortable it can also be rather expensive. Moreover another good idea is taking a cruise to the Greek islands however it can also be rather expensive and does not give you the freedom to explore the Greek islands by yourself. In my opinion the most enjoyable way to travel through Greek islands is by ferry. Traveling by ferry is most suitable for the kind of traveler that loves the sea and considers ferries as part of his holiday. These people are the lucky ones who can treat a long ferry journey as a fun thing to do, rather than a business traveler who just wants to get to his destination as quick as possible.

The ferries in Greece are modern, fast and comfortable.

No matter in which way you decide to visit Greece and regardless of the time of the year Greece surely give you some unforgettable experiences…

Siesta Key Beach Ranks #1 Sarasota Attractions

“Siesta Key is the best beach in the whole entire world,” says 54-year-old world traveler John Martin of Australia.

“Every year,” Martin adds, “my wife and I visit Sarasota for this amazing beach. We’ve experienced beaches throughout the world. By far, Siesta Key offers the most beautiful white soft sand; it’s always cool & very clean. The blue-green almost is so glassy, warm and clear.”

Siesta Key appeals to all age groups:

*Kids love the water – roughly 3′ deep and mostly calm as far as 100′ from shore.
*Kids also enjoy digging in the sand.
*Older kids hang out near the sand volleyball courts or throw footballs and frisbees in expansive areas between Pavillion and water.
*Adults set up tents and beach chairs near the water, watching kids play and passersby stroll, jog & bike along the water’s edge.

Winner of the “world’s finest, whitest sand,” Siesta Key (Public) Beach extends along a half-mile of the most pristine white sands in the world. There is no sand comparable to Siesta Key’s. Even under the burning subtropical sun, it remains cool to the touch. Siesta Key has received many honors for its powdery white-sandy beaches including recognition as one of Americas Best Beaches,” Third Best Walking Beach in the USA by USA Today International Edition, and The Best of the Best Sand by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine.

There is endless room to walk, plenty of room to find a spot to hang out for an entire day, over 800 public parking spots that fill quickly, and nearby Siesta Village with shops and restaurants.

Lifeguards positioned at several towers on the beach keep a watchful eye, protecting tourists from wondering out too far into boating territory. Picnic pavilions are available for groups at a nominal fee. Water sports of every kind add color and excitement to the Siesta Beach scene.

Siesta Key Public Beach amenities include:

Siesta Key Beach highlights a Sarasota, Florida, vacation or local lifestyle. Among all Sarasota attractions, visitors and locals alike treasure Sarasotas world-class beach experience. When it comes to natural beaches so to speak, it has to be said that these parts of the world have not been blessed by the smoothness of sand. To decorate it with the latest fashion brand towel, the local folk have got used to the rocks where one goes to an extra length to find a flat spot.

On the island of Lopud, Dubrovnik Region has one sandy beach and, in the little hamlet of Srebreno, part of Zupa Dubrovacka Riviera there is a second beach. Not including little hideaway that one can stumble upon, these Dubrovnik beaches are public. Pebble ones are the majority of beaches. Gaining in popularity and holding the coolest beach title, the last tourist season in Dubrovnik has witnessed the beach at Dubrovnik President hotel. Having little hideout spots for the right reasons as a large number of small boat owners are known to slow down when passing by, the FKK beach is also situated nearby Dubrovnik President beach.

A synonym of what is like to chill out and enjoy unspoilt nature, the island of Lokrum represents. The island is an oasis of peace and tranquillity, situated at a stone throw away from the Old Town port. Just shows that dipping a la nature rocks, this island also boasts about the biggest FKK beach. Half of it reserved for the naturists, the beach in Plat, situated on Zupa Dubrovacka Riviera, has a wonderful pebbles beach. Located in exclusive Place suburb of Dubrovnik, I have omitted on purpose Banje beach, a central beach, in my opinion expensive, the part which a restaurant-club. I have to add that free to access is the second half of the beach. Associated with the culture of bathing, sunbathing, swimming etc, the values have been dictated by Croatia’s natural beauty. Let the rest be the magic moment of your stay in Duborvnik and Croatia after you just go in search of a hidden gem of a spot.

One can look out for various activities, while at Dubrovnik. Regarded as one of the top diving areas in the world is the Adriatic Sea belonging to Croatia and as the most beautiful underwater worlds, the underwater world around Dubrovnik is considered. On the Dubrovnik islands, one can experience adventurous tours and scintillating Dubrovnik night life. The vigor and passion of your life is recreated at the Elaphite island, with sea kayaking.

On the seas of the Croatian coast, experienced guides arrange for sailing excursions. With countless bays, beaches, ports and marinas which will prove to be a heaven for sailors, enjoy sailing on the natural harbors.

While the deeper parts offer the challenge of big game fishing, fishing can be an interesting activity with the coastal parts of Dubrovnik region rich in small and medium game fish.

People that are stopped for driving under the influence don’t always understand the value of immediately contacting a Long Beach DUI attorney. Some have the mistaken impression that this will be handled like other kinds of traffic citations. Others don’t feel that they need to be in any rush about this. Both ideas are wrong.

California law allows for a process called a DMV, or Department of Motor Vehicles, hearing. It is something that has to be requested with the first ten days after the citation. It is not something that is casual in nature, but it is something that can often be used to get the charge dropped.

Higher costs for insurance

People that have this kind of ticket appear on their records will usually pay higher premiums for insurance. In that Californians already pay some of the highest premiums in the country, this is no laughing matter. For some families and individuals, this can impose a financial crisis.

Possible license suspension

Depending on whether this is a first time event or one that is a second, third or more event, people run the risk of loosing driving privileges. Many people that have this happen will have their lives turned upside down. Lots of people commute a hundred miles or more to work each day round trip. Not being able to get to work can potentially cause a job to be lost. For those that think this is no big deal and that they can find some other alternative for transportation, think again. Even van pools that come from the outer communities have limitations in that people have to get to them to use them.

License suspension can take as little as 90 days or as long as ten years depending on the amount of times that the person has been charged as well as the kind of judge they get for their case.

Job problems

Besides trouble getting to work, this kind of charge is something that future employers may ask about. People that tell the truth about being arrested may not get hired. People that lie about it can be discharged later when the truth emerges. Either way can prevent a person from having a job. In that Southern California is a tough area to find a good job, this is not something that most people want to risk.

Contacting an attorney that specializes in this kind of law is not a guarantee that the charge will be dropped but it is the best chance that people have. For this reason, contacting someone immediately and trying to get a DMV hearing is always a good idea.
